SEPTEMBER 28, 2024: Mallory Yates

Mallory Yates is a lead engineer at NASA JSC’s Aircraft Operations Division. As a student at Boise State University, she joined the Johnson Space Center Student Co-operative Program, and upon graduating with a degree in Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering, she was offered a full-time position with NASA.

Mallory has engineered items for every platform that NASA JSC flies:  T-38, WB-57 (NASA’s High Altitude Research Aircraft), C-9, Super Guppy and GII/G. Early in her career, she seized an opportunity to start flying as a flight test engineer in the NASA T-38, and she now flies the WB-57, NASA’s High Altitude Research Aircraft as a Sensor Equipment Operator. Her current workload consists of ejection system sustaining maintenance and WB-7 aircraft repair and payload integration.
