Join us for an exciting Hangar talk featuring the illustrious Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-15!
Location: Heritage hangar
This Talk consists of an informational and entertaining presentation given by our Museum Docent.
The Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-15 is a Soviet jet fighter developed to intercept high-altitude bombers and one of the first aircraft to feature swept wings, improving speed while increasing takeoff and landing requirements. A primary adversary of the U.S. F-86 Sabre, the MiG-15 helped define jet combat during the Korean War. Built in 1950 and powered by the Klimov VK-1 engine, derived from the Rolls-Royce Nene, this aircraft was delivered to the Chinese Navy and is believed to have seen combat. It was imported to the United States in the mid-1990s.
Get up close to the MiG-15 and discover the rich history, and engineering. This special 30-minute talk will take place right in front of the aircraft in our Heritage Hangar.
Event is included with General Admission and FREE for museum members.
