What is Girls in Aviation Day?
Girls in Aviation Day at Lone Star Flight Museum encourages and inspires girls to pursue futures in aviation and STEM. Established 11 years ago by Women In Aviation International, this day focuses on immersing girls (and boys) ages 8-17 in the wonder of aviation and encouraging them to fuel a limitless future. And once again ExxonMobil is serving as presenting sponsor for this amazing event enabling every girl to register absolutely FREE!
Thanks to all our sponsors for their incredible support. Registrants receive a swag bag, tshirt, lunch and Q&A session with aviation experts and a day full of plane amazing activities and inspiring conversations!

Moderator
Shelly Lesikar deZevallos, Ed.D

Dr. Shelly Lesikar deZevallos is President of West Houston Airport, one of the busiest general aviation airports in the U.S., and an active pilot with over 5,000 flight hours.
She has held leadership roles with Cessna Aircraft Company, the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, and currently serves on the Board of the National Business Aviation Association.
A lifelong advocate for aviation safety and education, she also chairs the TxDOT Aviation Advisory Committee and volunteers with the Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council. Shelly holds degrees from the University of Texas, Texas A&M University, and a Doctorate in Aviation and Space Science. She lives in Houston with her husband, also a pilot, and their twin daughters.
