Just arrived! Our newest Plane of the Month -  Exxon Flyin' Tiger! 

Bruce Bohannon flew his aircraft to LSFM where it will be on display through April. Bohannon, a Texas-born aerobatic pilot, flight instructor, air racer and aviation record setter. Bohannon flew this highly modified RV-4 kit airplane to set thirty world records between 1999 and 2005.

Bohannon will be inducted into our Texas Aviation Hall of Fame in April 2022. More on this event at lonestarflight.org/events/tahof2022

Fly Girls of World War II opens THIS SATURDAY, JAN. 29! Not only did their pilot skills soar, but so did their style! LSFM Curator, Eleanor Barton shares her one of favorite parts of the exhibit - the fashion! Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) were on the cutting edge with uniforms specially designed by Bergdorf Goodman and custom fitted at the Dallas Neiman Marcus. Other accessories such as Giorgio Armani issued aviators are also on display.

❗PLUS❗Hear Barton's Curator Talk this Saturday, Jan. 29 at 11 a.m. as she discusses the Houston history of WASPs, and brings never-before-seen artifacts out from LSFM archives!

MS - 500 Criquet has arrived!

The Morane-Saulnier MS-500 Criquet is a French-built version of the Fieseler Fi-56 Storch first produced in Germany in 1935. During the German occupation of France during WWII, Fieseler Storch were built at the Morane-Saulnier factory in Puteaux (just west of Paris) for the Luftwaffe. After the country was liberated in August 1944, Morane-Saulnier continued to build these aircraft for the French military under the name MS-500 Criquet. More than 900 Criquet planes were built before production ended in 1965.
