Earn Your Wings!
In the Flight Academy visitors will be introduced to the foundations of flight and aircraft design, all explained with basic scientific principles through engaging hands-on educational stations.
Visitors of all ages will engage in four interactive sections: Design and Engineering Lab, Science of Flight, Briefing Room, and Ground Training featuring:
- 27 hands-on exhibits
- Three replica cockpits featuring a Curtiss Jenny and two P-51 Mustangs (ADA accessible)
- Two Hang Glider live action simulators
- Briefing Room
All of the exhibits were reviewed by a committee of middle-school science teachers for content and connections to principles included in TEKS benchmarks. Exhibits were also reviewed by a committee of pilots for accuracy of aeronautical content.
