Book Talk & Signing for Bombing Hitler’s Hometown by Author Michael Croissant

Author and former CIA officer Michael Croissant will discuss his new book “Bombing Hitler’s Hometown” Sat., April 13th – 11:30-12:30. This event is free with a general admission ticket. Books are available for purchase in the museum gift shop.

“Bombing Hitler’s Hometown” is a riveting, true story of the perilous mission to bomb Germany’s most symbolic stronghold –  A must for fans of WWII air warfare, “Masters of the Air” and “A Wing and a Prayer.”

“Bombing Hitler’s Hometown: The Untold Story of the Last Mass Bomber Raid of World War II in Europe” puts the reader directly into the cockpits of B-24 and B-17 heavy bombers that flew this vital and dangerous mission, as well as the perspectives of Austrian soldiers and civilians under the bombs who were caught up in events beyond their control. Interviews with survivors along with archival research, the book is a gripping, detailed, moving epic that pays tribute to the thousands of soldiers involved in the Allied air war over Europe.

Mike Croissant (Houston, TX) is a retired CIA officer. He holds an undergraduate degree in  political science and history from the University of Illinois and graduate degrees from Indiana University (M.A., Central Eurasian Studies) and Missouri State University (M.S.,  Defense & Strategic Studies). He has published two academic books and several journal  articles about World War II and current security issues in the former Soviet Union. An established expert in intelligence and foreign affairs, Croissant served for more than 20  years in the CIA as an analyst and counterterrorism targeting officer in locations ranging  from Washington, DC, to the Middle East and Central and South Asia.
