A lifelong Houstonian, Ryan is a debt finance lawyer at Sidley Austin LLP, where he provides guidance to clients on various finance transactions, including commercial and alternative lending, with a focus on traditional reserve-based, midstream, asset-based, and direct lending.
Ryan represents agent banks, publicly traded and privately owned borrowers, portfolio companies, and alternative lenders in lending and financing transactions, within the U.S. and internationally. He has extensive knowledge in financing transactions within the oil and gas industry.
His experience covers a range of transactions, such as secured and unsecured lending, syndicated credit facilities, senior and subordinated financings, holding company/mezzanine lending, intercreditor agreements, and restructuring/workout financings.
Ryan has been recognized by the Legal 500 US as a “Key Lawyer” in Energy: Renewable/Alternative Power (2023) and by Best Lawyers: One to Watch in America in Banking and Finance Law (2024). When not working, Ryan enjoys spending time with his young son and wife, traveling, watching football and visiting the Lone Star Flight Museum.
