AUGUST 24, 2024: Reshel Mazur

Reshel Mazur has an exciting history in the aviation industry.  She was the first and only woman in her family to serve in the military, following her father’s service in the U.S. Air Force and grandfather in the U.S. Navy.  She holds a bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Science from Embry Riddle University with a minor in Aviation Safety.

Reshel served in the U.S. Air Force at Edwards Air Force Base, where at the Air Force Flight Test Center, she assisted in the development of the Air Traffic Controller training program.  Twice while serving there, she was part of the Space Shuttle landing.  She was deployed to Prince Sultan Air Base in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in support of training Saudi airmen to be Air Traffic Controllers.

Reshel is currently an Air Traffic Manager and one of few women in a leadership role in a major city’s ATC tower. She has been an Air Traffic Controller and Certified Weather Observer for more than 25 years!
