Fight to the finish exhibit - 1945: the final year
2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II and likely the last milestone anniversary for many who served in uniform. In commemoration, the Fight to the Finish exhibit invites visitors to reflect on the final year of the war and the extraordinary courage, sacrifice, and determination of those who fought abroad and supported on the home front. Exploring the air war of 1945 and the road to victory, the exhibit highlights how Allied air power brought the conflict to a decisive end. Created by LSFM, Fight to the Finish features wartime images, historical timelines, personal accounts, and rare artifacts from the museum’s archives, including bomb pins from 30 missions, a flak jacket pierced by shrapnel, and a Kamikaze pilot helmet, honoring the men and women whose resolve won the war and changed the world.
In recognition of National Aviation History Month and Veterans Day, we invite you to also explore the Stories of World War II Veterans inducted into the Texas Aviation Hall of Fame.
