“From Space to Sea” is a traveling art exhibit courtesy of the United States Navy Art Collection. It is a collection of original artworks depicting moments of the United States Navy’s role in the Space Program. The Navy was largely responsible for the recovery of astronaut crews who had safely landed in the ocean after a successful mission and the collection highlights some of the poignant moments of the time.
Alongside “From Space to Sea” is a selection of framed objects from the Lone Star Flight Museum’s Albert Cleere Collection. The Albert Cleere Collection comes from the family of the late Albert Cleere, a prominent banker in Houston who was the go-to banker for the astronauts. Cleere formed friendships with many of them – thus setting the stage for an amazing collection that showcased their mutual admiration.
Admission to “From Space to Sea” is included with a general admission ticket, members are always free!
