Every activity was my favorite!

camper lauren, age 12

He loved it! He could not wait to go back each day! He loved the flight simulators and the hands-on experiences with the planes.

Mandy, camp parent

Our son has been absolutely glowing all week, full of stories, new experiences. Thank you so much. I don’t know how we can top this experience, to be honest.

Chris, camp parent

JUNIOR METEOROLOGIST Ages 6-8

Do you like learning about the weather? Register for this camp where you can be a Jr. Meteorologist. Campers will learn about the rain cycle, different weather conditions, and what pilots need to know for a safe flight. At the end, experience these weather conditions in our Flight Simulators!

Dates: July 29-August 2

CRAFTY AIRCRAFTER Ages 7-9

From hot air balloons to gliders and rockets, every day will be a building challenge as you create working model aircraft to take home, explore things that look like they shouldn’t fly but do, and invent your own flying contraption. Inventors study science to create their machines – learn the science that makes each aircraft work and how your models follow the same rules of flight. Just like the toys that inspired the Wright brothers!

Take a close look at the planes and people that made history.  The battles in the skies started with the race for dominant engineering to make the next bigger and faster aircraft design.  Each day, examine a different set of warbirds – observers, trainers, dive bombers, fighters, and heavy bombers – up close to see how differences in technology meant life or death on the battlefield, and learn about the pilots and crew that relied on that machine to get the job done.  Then hop in our networked flight simulators with your campmates making up a squadron to recreate WWII missions by defending a bombing run in a P-51 Mustang, divebombing a battleship in an SBD Dauntless, and dogfighting in a Corsair.

PILOT MAKER: READY FOR FLIGHT Ages 13+

Must take Pilot Maker: Advanced Training before start of camp

After completing Basic and Advanced Training, become Ready for Flight! Test your pilot skills in the simulators battling different conditions in multiple types of planes. If your friends went flying, how much luggage is safe? What would you do if the weather went bad while in the air? What if your engine stalled?  Once your pilot skills are mastered, learn about different career paths for pilots so you can decide your flight path and be ready for flight!

Dates: June 24-28 or July 29-August 2

AERO DERBY DASH Ages 7-9

This challenge will test your skills and nerves! Each race segment puts you into the world of the most demanding places people fly. Can you make it through the Grand Canyon, as a bush pilot in the tundra, through remote mountains, or land on an aircraft carrier? Learn about the geography, weather, and other conditions that make each location so risky as you race around the world.

FLY GIRLS Ages 10+

Women pilots during World War II? Yes! In this girl-centric camp, retrace the steps of historic women in aviation – from Queen Bess wowing the crowds in the 1920’s, the service of WASPs during the war, and the spirit of Amelia Earhart. Follow the training regimen of the WASPs through flight school to learn the science and physics of aviation and use your new navigating and piloting skills to reenact their flights in our simulators.

GO ZERO G!   Ages 10+

Cross the thin line from air to space. The Space Shuttle is a rocket on the way up, a satellite in orbit, and an aircraft on landing. See how astronauts lived in the shuttle cabin as you explore NASA’s crew cabin trainer, inspect the flight simulator that trained all the shuttle pilots, and learn how to fly from outer space to a thin runway.

Must take Pilot Maker: Basic Training before Pilot Maker: Advanced Training

After completing Pilot Maker: Basic Training, continue your training to a greater skill set including flying in more real-world situations. You’ve learned how to navigate a flight path, but can you calculate the trip and land with a 30-mph crosswind, at night, with a 1000 ft cloud ceiling? In this next level training, test your piloting skills of maintaining altitude, controlled turns, and instrument flight while dealing with weather conditions, convection currents, and mechanical failures. Once you complete this training, you will be Ready for Flight!
