Red Baron Art Display – Open Now through Oct. 2024
Explore the artistic journey through the military career of the famed Red Baron, the WWI German Air Force fighter pilot credited with 80 air combat victories.
Manfred (Baron) von Richthofen and his legendary ace flying skills are depicted through 16 framed artworks and documents donated to the museum by Dr. Bruce Cameron in 1996.
The artwork will be on display through October outside the Waltrip Hangar. Included with general admission ticket and free for members!
As you begin the artwork tour, you’ll learn about the Red Baron and Dr. Cameron. The framed artwork is placed in chronological order and features key moments in the Red Baron’s military career from his first aerial victory in 1916 to his death in 1918. The display ends with an animated music video about the Red. Bar written and performed by Swedish rock band Sabaton.
The works on display are part of the generous collection donated by Dr. Bruce Cameron.
