Nearly 300 supporters attended the Lone Star Flight Museum’s WINGS Breakfast at the River Oaks Country Club. This event helps to fund immersive educational enrichment experiences in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) for thousands of students and inspires hundreds of young girls to envision a future career for themselves in STEM-based professions.
The Girls In Aviation program in particular combines history, science and technology to spark excitement in girls ages 10-17 to pursue STEM and aviation focused education and professional opportunities.
This year’s WINGS Breakfast featured dynamic speaker and famed author Lena Andrews. Her best-selling book, Valiant Women: The Extraordinary American Servicewomen Who Helped Win World War II was the highlight of the morning.
