Brothers William “Budo” and Wilson “Connie” Edwards and Connie’s son, Wilson “Tex” Edwards, Jr. of Big Spring, Texas, were all accomplished pilots and warbird enthusiasts. A movie pilot as well, Connie Edwards is best known for choreographing and flying many of the aerial scenes in the 1969 movie Battle of Britain. In lieu of payment, Edwards received several vintage airplanes that formed the beginning of the private warbird collection that he enjoyed with his son. Tex, who had pilot ratings in five different aircraft by the time he was 17, was an agricultural pilot and partner in the family aviation business until his death.
