Moments of Heroism: Stories of Sacrifice, Selflessness and the American Spirit on 9/11
On September 11, 2001, the United States experienced the deadliest terrorist attack in its history. Recognizing the 25th anniversary of 9/11, Lone Star Flight Museum presents Moments of Heroism: Stories of Sacrifice, Selflessness and the American Spirit on 9/11.
This panel exhibition features stories drawn from the 9/11 Memorial & Museum collection in New York, in remembrance of the 2,977 people who lost their lives and honors many more who selflessly stood side by side with first responders to help others. Thousands of lives were saved in the minutes and hours during and after the attacks, and incredible stories of bravery emerged. This exhibit chronicles powerful accounts of rescue and great courage on that fateful day.
Alongside stories of resilience, the museum invites guests to write their own personal message on a leaf of the Survivor Tree. Modeled as a tribute to the Survivor Tree at the 9/11 Memorial & Museum in New York City, this tree symbolizes strength, hope and renewal in the face of tragedy.
