As Managing Director for Northern Trust, Jerome, “Jerry” Simon serves as trusted advisor to affluent individuals and families, providing holistic comprehensive wealth management strategies and advice. Prior to joining Northern, Mr. Simon was a founding senior officer of Tanglewood Bank serving 13 years as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and, President and Principal of the bank’s broker dealer subsidiary, until the bank was acquired by Northern Trust in 1995.
Jerry has always had a passion for aviation. He is a licensed Commercial Pilot and is “type rated” to fly jets. He is a member of the Angel Flight and Veteran’s Airlift Command organizations; transporting families needing access to specialized health care, special needs camps and other destinations including disaster response efforts and flights for compassionate reasons.
Mr. Simon also serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center – Board of Visitors, The Houston Symphony,
Junior Achievement of Southeast Texas and Methodist Hospital System – Center for Performing Arts Medicine.
Jerry also serves as Trustee for the Houston Symphony Endowment, Trustee “Emeritus” for Goodwill Industries of Houston, Member of The Menil Collection Corporate Council and Advisory Board Member for HSPVA Friends
Mr. Simon served five years on the faculty of the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University, Dallas, on the Board of Trustees for The Center for Hearing and Speech, Board of Directors for The Post Oak YMCA, Vice Chairman of Deacons of Second Baptist Church, and member of the Executive Committee for The Stehlin Foundation for Cancer Research.
Mr. Simon is a Vietnam-era veteran and served three years as a paratrooper in the elite 82nd Airborne Division of the United States Army.
