Jerry Simon

Jerome “Jerry” Simon has served for the past 28 years, as Managing Director in the Wealth Management Group for Northern Trust. Jerry was a founding senior officer of Tanglewood Bank, serving 13 years as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and President of the bank’s broker-dealer subsidiary, until the bank was acquired by Northern Trust, in 1995.

Jerry has always had a passion for aviation. He is a licensed Commercial Pilot and is “type rated” to fly jets. He has served the Angel Flight South Central organization, for 17+ years, transporting families in his Cessna Citation, needing access to specialized health care, disaster response efforts and other charitable flights for compassionate reasons.

Mr. Simon currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the following organizations: The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center Board of Visitors, The Methodist Hospital System – Center for Performing Arts Medicine and The Lone Star Flight Museum. Mr. Simon also serves as: Trustee of the Houston Symphony Endowment and, Trustee Emeritus for Goodwill Industries of Houston. He previously served on the faculty of the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking, at Southern Methodist University, Dallas,  Board of Trustees for The Center for Hearing and Speech, Director and member of the Executive Committee for Junior Achievement of Southeast Texas, The Post Oak YMCA, Board Member for HSPVA Friends, The Menil Collection Corporate Council, Vice Chairman of Deacons of Second Baptist Church, Governing Director and Member of the Executive Committee for the Houston Symphony and Stehlin Foundation for Cancer Research.

Jerry and his wife Lisa, are also very involved in our local community and have chaired many events; most recently serving as Co-Chairs for the Memorial Hermann Foundation, the Houston Symphony and Lone Star Flight Museum annual galas raising $8.5 million, $1.6 million and $1.2 million, respectively.

Jerry is a Vietnam-era veteran and proudly served three years as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division, of the United States Army.
