An award-winning commercial airline pilot and founder of “Sisters of the Skies”, Captain Nia Gilliam chronicles her journey as a Black female pilot, navigating the skies and the unique challenges of her profession, from witnessing the 9/11 terror attacks unfold from her cockpit window, surviving breast cancer, creating community among Black aviators and being a proud mother of two.
about the moderator
Lynn Clouser is Missouri City’s Mayor Pro Tem, a member of the city’s Economic Development Committee, chairs the city’s Small Business Advisory Committee and is Captain Gilliam’s Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority sister and longtime friend.
